A two-book deal with the HarperCollins imprint, HQ!

I'm thrilled to announce that I’ve signed a two-book deal with the HarperCollins imprint, HQ Fiction.

This news would have been brilliant regardless of the timing but in a year of mostly bad news, it has given me a bounce – no a jump – in my step!

I can't wait to share SOMEONE ELSE’S CHILD* with you in 2022. It is about a mother who is desperately trying to raise funds for her daughter's cancer treatment. Her community rallies around her until they discover she hasn't spent the money where she promised.

It's about motherhood, female friendships, small-town communities and the need for us to belong, and to be seen. It's dark in places but also offers hope and humanity.

And so I don't lose sight of the road that brought me here, I have put together this graphic that shows the path many writers take to finally get to their dream destination: a publishing deal! Grit and hope.

Enjoy!
