When does encouragement become pressure?

After years of ferrying boys around to soccer and tennis, footy and swimming, it was time to offer my daughter something. She chose gymnastics. At aged 5, she is bouncing and spinning and cartwheeling everywhere. She was very excited about gymnastics until .. she wasn't. So, we cancelled it, much the horror of others. It made me wonder, when does encouragement turn into pressure?
